FAQ

Flex Quest

General

Why another fitness app?

There are many fitness apps out there, and while some offer good features, we had issues finding them all gathered into one app. Flex Quest is an attempt to fill that gap!

You can learn more about that in the Features page.

Is Flex Quest here to stay?

Absolutely, as long as the community supports the app, Flex Quest will stay and will try its best to be as useful as possible.

I’m a coach, how can I use Flex Quest with my customers?

Flex Quest currently does not offer a “coach mode”, but it’s on our road map. We want coaches to be able to create workouts/programs which can be used as templates and be assigned to their customers.

Is there a newsletter I can subscribe to?

No, not at the moment… but we do have an awesome app that will help you reach your goals!

Is Flex Quest available in other languages?

Not at the moment, but we do plan on doing so, likely starting with Spanish and French. But it also depends on you, let us know your language so we can prioritize accordingly.

What’s next in the future?

Oh, so much… We don’t lack ideas, but we want to focus on the core features, making the app stronger and more useful before adding too much. But we CAN’T WAIT to get there!

Training

Are there pre-made fitness programs in Flex Quest?

Not at the moment, but we would love to! Right now the priority is to get enough feedback from the community to make Flex Quest core features truly useful and enjoyable.

Meanwhile, you can find plenty of programs online and translate them into Flex Quest.

I just started working out, can I use Flex Quest? Who is it for?

Short answer: yes you can, it is for potentially anyone.

You can keep it very simple by only tracking reps and weight (which is 100% fine) or you could increase complexity by tracking many more attributes. Common ones like resting time, tempo, RPE/RIR or less usual ones like how high the seat of the machine is, or the angle of the bench. It all depends how your mind works, what you believe in and what your goals are, the choice is yours.

However, Flex Quest is currently NOT for people who want/need to be told exactly what to do. There is nothing wrong with that, but since Flex Quest currently does not offer any premade program, you may want to have an idea on how to structure your workouts, and your weeks of training (we’re working on articles about that). Or just get to the gym, lift weight and track what you do on the fly as you see fit.

Can you suggest workouts programs for me?

We will, through the app, but for now, you will need to look for them online or from a professional coach.

Exercises

How often do you add new exercises?

As often as needed. The exercises library is a continuous work in progress and we’re constantly improving it and adding new exercises.

I don’t find some exercises I like, can you add them?

Sure, you can send them through the contact form. If they’re useful to you, they could be for others too!

Meanwhile, Flex Quest allows you to add your own exercises. You can also customize them with the same metadata as built-in ones.

Will there be exercises descriptions? Tips? Photos/videos?

Yes, that’s on our roadmap. We have a lot of exercises so it takes time and we’ll probably roll them out step by step, starting with the most common and useful exercises.

Meanwhile, you will find Google/Youtube links for each exercise to easily access more information. It helps!

Pricing

Is Flex Quest Free?

No, Flex Quest is not free. We do offer a 14-day free trial period (no credit card required) for you to decide if the app will work for you. We also have a referral program, read about it below.

How does the referral program work?

The referral program will extend the subscription by one month for you and your friend. You’re friend must have a valid subscription (expired memberships and free trial period won’t work) and you must provide the referral code during checkout.

Why is Flex Quest so cheap?

Because we want the app to be useful to as many people as possible, starting with the people who actually gave up on fitness apps because they couldn’t properly track their training.

Why is Flex Quest so expensive?

We’re sorry to hear you think it’s expensive, we actually tried to price it relatively lower than many others so it could be affordable.

Can I get a refund?

No, the 14-day free trial period is for you to test the app and decide whether it works for you or not. You don’t need to provide a payment method during that time. But if you decide to stay with us you will need to purchase a subscription, in which case we’ll assume you made your choice.

Technical

Do I need an internet connection to use Flex Quest?

Flex Quest has an offline mode, but you do need to first connect and log in into the app a first time to load your information. Make sure to get connectivity back before logging out or using the app from another device or you will lose your progress!

Why don’t I find Flex Quest on the App Store or Google Play?

We made the choice to build Flex Quest with React and have the app available from nearly any device and browser while maintaining only one code base. That choice is not directly compatible with those stores, but there are options we’re looking into.

However, you can download the site on your phone or tablet and it will behave like a regular app. Read more about it below.

Can I still use Flex Quest as an app on my phone?

Yes! Flex Quest is a Progressive Web App (PWA) and you can download it directly into your phone/tablet and use it as a standalone app, like the other native apps! That’s actually the preferred way to use Flex Quest.

Learn how to do it here.

Which browsers are supported?

Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge, pretty much any modern browsers as long as it’s running a recent version. We strongly suggest to avoid using Internet Explorer.

Flex Quest is designed to run on browsers from desktops, tablets and phones.

How can I reach out to the Flex Quest team?

By using the contact form here.
